Branding Day

Our Patron Saint of Branding

This little guy was about 10 years old and not just there for looks. He could rope a calf as well as the men.

You can't have a branding without the wood to keep the fires hot.

This little guy was intent on keeping the calves where they belonged.

B.J. and Emily. He's ranch partner and knows those cows like the back of his hand.

We branded cutting boards for souvenirs

All the little boys played most of the day in the cattle chute.

If not made to rest, these little doggies will work themselves into exhaustion. So here they are, resting.

Doesn't every branding have a Pakistani Muslim show up to help? She was visiting Imnaha and was told there was a branding happening. She was hoping to watch. She ended up vaccinating the calves.

She had never even touched a horse before. I think that the whole branding experience won't be one she soon forgets.

She was sent home with a branded board so she could remember the day.
