Colonial Williamsburg

Williamsburg proved to be a real hit.  An interactive village with activities to do, how could it not?

If she could only get a look at that sheep being shorn.

Outside the tavern there was a reading of the Declaration of Independence.

All the kids got to dig at a real archaeological site.  It was a store from the 1700's where they were finding pottery, bits of bone, and shell.

Anwyn was the most excited about this.

I think I was the most excited about the print shop where each of the kids got to print their own copy of the Declaration of Independence on a period printer.

The man who helped them make their copies would then review the print with them to see how well they did, if they had inked the letters well- too little of too much.

Fox was wanting a copy of the Declaration of Independence so badly and as it turned out he got to print his own.
